The Albums

by ryan

Introducing the ideal place for us to share our photos with the people we love:

We are so excited to share this gem on the internet with you!

So what is it?

It is an affordable, ad-free photo-sharing website.  It is simple, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing. The Albums is the closest thing to a hard-cover album filled with your printed photos.  Only unlike printed photo albums, these can be shared easily with your loved ones even if they can’t come to your house and sit down for tea and a plate of cookies.  Jordan and I are so stoked to share snapshots of our life with our family that is spread across three countries and with our friends all over the world.

So why is The Albums best website of its kind?

The main reason it is the best option for sharing digital photos is because the founders are trustworthy.  Jordan and I know the founders personally.  They provide excellent customer service, and are truly people of integrity–rare these days, isn’t it? Furthermore, they are a family that values sharing memories, protecting privacy, and most importantly, family.  They have made things simple, beautiful & clutter-free.  Plus, they have thought of ideas–that to my knowledge–no one else has thought of.

And they only charge the price of a latte/month.

But aren’t we better off with a free photo-sharing website?

I did research on all ten of the Top 10 Free Photo Sharing Websites of 2013 according to techmell.net.  After trying all ten, I realized that none of them are truly free (they cost us something even if it is not easily measured in dollars).  For example, Picasa by Google+ does data mining.  Scary! Other issues were tacky ads–who wants to share those with loved ones?–and complicated or bugged interfaces.

Anyhow, we can confidently say The Albums is the best.  Contact us if you are interested in hearing more or for our evaluation of the ten other sites I looked into and tested.

The Albums is worth the small price for our family, the founders are trustworthy and the site is free of ads. It is a great way to share your life with the people you care about.  We really like it and them, and we think you will see why when you check out The Albums for yourself.  If you like what you see

Excited to share our Albums with you,

trials, faith & rest

by ryan

King David wrote a song that declares “The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.”

His kingdom rules over all.  Over all.  And trials are a part of the “all”.  This week has been very challenging for Jordan and me.  We endured something quite evil.  But you see, God was not surprised.  He knows all things. God watched what happened to us, as King Solomon said: “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.”  And as he watched, his kingdom was still ruling over all.

Often hard things happen in our lives that don’t make sense to us.  And when they do, it is tempting to give up trusting God.  But we believe God is still on his throne, ruling the whole universe.  He always accomplishes his purposes, as the Prophet Isaiah has written:

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

God always accomplishes his purposes and they are good and just.

So at the end of a long week, Jordan and I are reclining & resting knowing that our God is faithful to us.  So we walk by faith, being faithful to him.

We know many of you are going through challenging times, and if you are not, you will.  And when you are, may you walk by faith,  finding peace & rest under the shadow of his wings.

Together with You

by ryan

We’re all in this together.

Together with You is the name of our newsletter (we update friends about our lives and work and ask them to pray for us), but it can be used as a theme for much of our lives.  We say it to God, “Together with you”–meaning Jordan and I are in a restored relationship with God and we live with him.  We say it to all our fellow humans “Together with you”–meaning, we live on the same earth and are the same sort of creation and we affect one another.

But we say “Together with you” in another sense also, a sense related to Fountain pen.  We don’t view this blog as a Jordan and Ryan thing.  Everyone who visits, whether they comment or not, is participating with us.  Together we are seeking to understand the meaning all around us, and to make sense of our lives and the world.  We invite you to share in our journey, and even join us.

We’re glad we are together with you.  We don’t claim to be perfect so we invite you to read what we write with an open mind but also a discretionary one.  Question what you read, and feel free to ask us about what we write, or even what we don’t write.  We hope to write truth in a loving way, but we will inevitably fail at least some.  That’s where you come in.  Maybe you can help us see the truth better, or even just write about it clearer.

Together with You,

Ryan & Jordan
